Wet Roses

Walking through my yeard checking on the effectiveness of my lawn irrigation I spotted these roses and decided to play a little with my camera.  Always looking for something to do or "shoot" during this period of "corona-isolation."

Hi-Key

My first attempt at an intentional Hi Key shot.  High key photography uses unnaturally bright lighting to blow out most or all harsh shadows in an image. High key methods were originally developed as a solution to screens that couldn't properly display high contrast ratios but have developed into more of a stylistic choice.  These are identified when the Histogram is peaked on the extreme right.   More information on hi-key can be found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFF2dOXyNuM

2020 Wildflowers

Even with the "2020 Shelter in Place" for Corvid-19 and the thought of  "Physical" Distancing  (I prefer physical over social distancing, as I am still social animal BUT I do maintain a physical distance from other people) we got out to take some wildflower pictures, specifically Blue Bonnets. After all, it's just the two of us in the car, so we would not be near anyone.  As safe from the virus as we would be in the house.  So, I plotted our course before we left in Google maps.  Google maps said it would be a two-hour trip, home to Navasota, take SH 105 to Brenham and then back home.  We almost stayed on course, We did find a neat side road and it paid off with great flowers and scenery.  The 2-hour trip ended up to be a 4 1/2 hour trip, including a lunch stop at Whataburger in Brenham. Taking our burgers to Pleasant Hill Winery (which is closed) and sat under theur beautiful oak tree and enjoyed the scenery while eating.

Fil on the journey with us.
