Catch up Again

 Here we go -

Now I am going to try to catch up.  This one blog will have some images that I have taken since the last posting.   For those of you who automatically get my posts Google is stopping that automatic service in August.  So after August just stop by one in the while and see if I keep this blog going.

A visit to Sheldon Lake State Park and Environmental Learning Center -

This is a state park on the east side of Houston. It is north of the ship channel allowing for a mixed eco-system.

Got to love the Herons

Nice restful ponds

Some Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)

Visiting Cypress Park

Cypress Park is a county park near us.  It is at the confluence of the Little Cypress Creek and Cypress Creek.  It has a nice paved safe walking path around the lake.  There is a shortage of shade so it does not encourage walking in the hot days of summer.

Grantwood Park

This is a new county park in the area.  There used to be a subdivision here but it frequently flooded and the home owners were bought out by the county,  Now there is a paved path through the park in front and in the side and back a a nice are to walk through in the old streets of the subdivision.

A stumbling block?

Little Cypress Creek Preserve

This is a little "pocket" park that is very rustic near our home.

Found this bowtie, guess this makes this a formal park?

Houston Zoo

We enjoy the zoo in the cooler months, so we are selective on when we go.

  Glenwood Cemetery

This is an old cemetery close to downtown Houston,  Many famous and want to be famous people and families are buried in the cemetery.

Memorial Park - Eastern Glades

A quick visit to the newest addition to Memorial park, Eastern Glades.  Nice walking path, not much color, YET.  I'm sure as time allows for vegetation and acclimation things will be better.
