A road trip to Denver took us through Shamrock Texas. This was a way stop on the old Route 66. When ever we travel and have an opportunity to visit Route 66 we will go out of way to visit the "Mother Road". I was born on the western end of the the road and Betty was born in Chicago the eastern terminus of the highway.
Shamrock is the home of the famous Conoco gas station and the U Drop Inn. Not much else is left of the old stuff but we did stop and enjoyed.
