8 Year Old Baseball

My wife and I were invited to watch some friends 8 year old grandsons baseball tournament.  Was I ever surprised at the quality of the ballplayers, the game, and the field.  This facility has two ball diamonds, artificial turf infields, well maintained outfield, and covered concrete tiered stands (one with chairs and the other bring your own and plenty of space).

For eight year-olds (and up, not sure how up may 9 years old)  they played a pretty good game, not much overthrows, good rundowns, great attention by each boy to the game.  The pitchers were focused and in good form for their first or second year out of dad pitch.  They all had on uniforms with their names on them.  Most of the boys were wearing Oakley sunglasses ($$$.)  Some of them were sporting pretty decent mullets too.  Dressed and acted the part for sure.  All were using aluminum bats (their own) withe a large barrel.  Now onto the pictures

Trail Ride

Feb and March is rodeo time for Houston.  Every year there are a number come into town riding their horses and wagons on trail rides.  Some of the trail rides take over a week on the "trail."  The closest to me comes in from Montgomery, about 30 miles northeast of me.  This one is called the Sam Houston Trail ride.  They overnighted in Tomball.  But I caught them as they came into town (Tomball).  There were only about 3 wagons and 30 riders, this has shrunk over the years, but it was still fun.

Line Dance

The Tomball Community Center has a group of line dancer and they were showing off there skills while waiting for the trail ride to get into town.

Tomball Train Depot

A short visit to Tomball Train Depot to donate a book for their library.  Had to take some pictures while I was there.  There is a model train set up but it is closed for remodeling now, thus no pictures of model.  Got some images of the outside.

Plug in sky just to liven the image, was a overcast day

Had to take some pictures of the closed Dairy Queen.  The franchise owner got in a battle with corporate and closed all 26 locations that he owned.  So Tomball Texas along with 25 other locations are without the "Belt Buster."

Another Car Show

The Lyons Club of Tomball held their 32nd Annual Car Show.  On tis beautiful Sunday afternoon my wife and I went to view the show.  Here is ...
