Summer Trip to Wichita Kansas (Final Update)

Time for our annual trip to Wichita Kansas. A little escape from the heat of Houston. Purpose of the trip is to watch our grandsons collegiate baseball team the Cheney Diamond Dawgs in the NBC World Series.
Enough about baseball, while waiting for games I have been able to take some pictures. My first adventure was to the Great Plains Nature Center in the Chisholm Creek Park.

On an island in the Arkansas River Stands a 30-foot sculpture, The Keeper of the Plains. A much-visited site and offers some interesting shots. We went at sundown and stayed for the lighting of the Ring of Fire. The weather was perfect! The next da6 heat AND humidity returned with vengeance.

Took time to visit the Sedgwick County Zoo. Tried to get there before it got too hot, we failed. After a couple hours, it started getting warm AND humid.

Of course, we were at the ball game, too.  Our grandson is a pitcher only so it’s a treat to see him pitch. This night his fastball stayed between 90 & 92. These were taken with my mobile phone.

Saturday is farmers market day and we chose to go to the Kansas grown market. There was a “bubbleoligist” there, and I’m a sucker for this art, I love to see kids playing in the bubbles.

Of course, there was produce there, too.

Of course, there were some crafts, too. This was the only one that I had any interest in.  Good use of old propane tanks. Obviously, they were empty.

A little clown watching, too.
